Spartak Moscow has defeated FC Krasnodar in a Russian Premier League game played on Wednesday. It was a home game for Spartak and they won it by a close margin of 3-2.
This was Spartak’s 7th win in the ongoing league. They are now at the second position in the points table with 23 points in 10 matches. The table topper Zenit St Petersburg also has the same no. of points, but, on the basis of goal difference, they are ahead.
CSKA Moscow which had won the league last season is at no. 3 at the moment with just two points less than Spartak and Zenit.
The Spartak players came into the match against Krasnodar with an aggressive mindset and they managed to give the opposition the first blow in the 4th minute of the match. Jose Manuel Jurado was the one who scored that first goal for Spartak. He put the ball into the top corner of the post from a distance of more than 25 yards. That was an absolute stunner.
Krasnodar managed to equalize with the goal of Mauricio Pereyra who found the net from a distance of 20 yards to silence the crowd a bit.
However, it didn’t take Spartak too long to get ahead again. They fired in a couple of goals in quick time and the scorecard started showing 3-1 in the favour of the hosts all of a sudden. Those two goals were scored by Yura Movsisyan and Jurado respectively.
With 20 odd minutes to go, Isael da Silva scored the second goal for Krasnodar and tried to put a bit of pressure on the home team.
The visitors tried hard in the remaining time, but, they couldn’t score the equalizer and Spartak eventually managed to secure 3 points.
Spartak’s next match is against Zenit St Petersburg. That game will be played on Sunday.
