Spartak Moscow is looking to recover around fifteen million rubles (i.e. US$ 450000) in compensation from a fan whose swastika flag waving capers at a recent match resulted in a huge fine for the Russian team.

After the incident, the Russian football association gave Spartak a penalty of US$ 18500 and ordered the club to play 2 matches behind closed doors. The match on 30th October suffered fan violence. They held up for thirty minutes when police fired water cannons at the fans.

Matveyev said that the team is all set to sue him for fifteen million rubles. Earlier this month, Leonid Fedun, the Spartak Moscow owner stated that the team budget ascended $1.4 million short due to losses from tickets for the games against league leaders Zenit St. Petersburg and city rivals Lokomotiv.

The team owner also stated that the flag-waver fan was pro provocateur and he was there disturb Spartak’s season. Reports suggest that the unnamed football fan is from Vladimir Region and he has already been sentenced 7 days in prison.
In the mean tine,England club Southampton has fell in the interest for Aiden McGeady, the winger of Spartak Moscow. The Republic of Ireland player has been given new conditions by Spartak Moscow, but is also getting interest from English Premier League.

According to reports, EPL club Everton is in dialogues with Spartak Moscow regarding a fee for Aiden McGeady, but they are now anticipated to confront tough contest from Southampton.
